cub scout service project....

Every Mother's day since we've lived here Jared has been "in charge" of the Mother's day flowers for church (since he used to work for a plant vending company and he is a Horticulturist) I've always thought it would be great to grow the flowers from seed.... so this year, I thought it would be a great service project for the cub scouts.
here they are planting the marigold seeds back in March.

after just a week

then in April they
transplanted them into larger containers

It has been a very cool spring, so the Marigolds weren't in bloom for Mother's day... but all the women in the ward still loved them anyways, because of the time and effort that the Cub scouts put into growing them. (Each plant had a tag that said "grown with love just for you by the Panama Ward Cub Scouts, We hope your day is wonderful!")

on Friday all the boys came to help wrap the flowers in cellophane. It was a hard job wrapping all 72 plants, but they did a great job! and I loved seeing how excited they were on Mother's day, giving them out to all the ladies in our ward!

That is very impressive. The boys will remember that for a long time. Go Marlo! Glad to see so many updates. After your post about "TIME", I was afraid you might drop out of blog land. This is the ONLY way some of us get to keep up with your family. Thanks for sharing. :)
