Jared's 2nd Trip to Hawaii

Jared had the opportunity back in Feb. to go to Hawaii for work (his boss was sending him there in his place to help train a service team, that merchandises the Scott's products there) In Feb. he didn't have much leisure time to actually "see" anything in Hawaii, but this last week he got the chance to go back with 5 other Scott's employees and this time he was able to see a lot more. He got to spend the 1st couple of days on the big Island. He really enjoyed Kona (He's gonna take me there one day) this is a picture of Akaka Falls (next 3 pictures he took with his phone and sent them to us during the week) It was fun to see instant pictures of where he was at.... but made me wish I was there too! I was glad Jared could go and enjoy his trip... he's had a REALLY stressful year with work with very little free time to do anything, so it was nice he could relax a little.
This is the southern most tip of Hawaii

Hilo, Hawaii (view from his hotel room)
this was a picture he took on his 1st trip in Feb.

Black Sands beach
What a stark difference between this picture and....
this one. Volcano National park
at the entrance to a tube (what is left after a lava flow, the outside hardens 1st while the inside runs out, creating a giant hallow tube)
another picture of Akaka falls

Then his last 3 days were spent back in Honolulu. On Thurs. they were able to go and tour pearl harbor. The Arizona memorial.

In the Submarine Bo fin

Jared brought us back souvenirs... Brianne and Easton loved telling their classes at school about their dad going to Hawaii. Hopefully next time I post pictures from Hawaii, I'll be in them!! ha ha!

Those are such great pictures. The three times I was there we never went and saw the black sand beach. That's awesome!

Hawaii is a fun place to visit or live. It made me nostalgic for the days I served my mission on the Big Island and Pearl Harbor (I actually recognized all the places in the pictures). It looked like a cool trip. ... Don

Looks like fun! I'm glad he was able to see some of the sites this time.
Seriously though, the whole time you were looking at the pictures weren't you thinking, 'No Fair!' Two trips to the Island without you! Next time, drop your kids off here with me, fly out of Salt Lake, and have a fun fabulous vacation WITH Jared!

Seeing these pics of Jared brings back a lot of memories of him serving in my ward as a missionary. Good to see him keeping well.
